The firework show that has been barred from being held due to the pandemic for over four years will be held two days from now (Oct 1) at 9 p.m.
The display, which is also a part of the Night Vibes Hong Kong campaign, is coordinated by the Culture, Sports, and Tourism Bureau and is jointly sponsored by HKT Limited and FWD Life Insurance Company (Bermuda) Limited under the theme of 'wishing prosperity for all businesses, with an even brighter future for the city'.
The show will last about 23 minutes and 28 seconds, 350 meters away from the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, with three pontoons and six small pontoons launching 31,888 fireworks at nine different launch points to create a different level of fireworks performance.
The full budget of the event is said to be about HK$18 million, and the fireworks display will consist of eight different scenes.
Highlights include the first scene, "Together on National Day with Jubilant Fireworks", which will depict images of red hearts complemented by peonies to wish everyone well.
In the second scene with the theme "Hello Hong Kong, Happy Hong Kong", elements of smiling faces and the bauhinia will appear, while the sixth scene, "Rooted in China, Advancing as One", features red five-pointed stars accompanied by flourishes of different color combinations.
The climax will be the last scene, titled "Prospering Nation, Blessings for Hong Kong", with fireworks resembling a crown and palm brocades, along with alternating red and sparkling fireworks, symbolizing the prosperity of the nation and blessings for Hong Kong.
