Winter in Finland can be gray and dismal, but the arrival of the cold and dark season doesn't mean that life stops. For its autumn/winter 2020 collection, Finnish design house Marimekko cheers fashionistas up with its iconic fiery colors and vibrant floral patterns.

The opulent Ostjakki checks remain in the collection this season and are seen on new silhouettes such as the silk dress, knitted pullover and padded coat. The fashion house's classic print, the Unikko poppy, blooms on tops.
Inspired by a minimalist color palette, the new Jaarouve floral pattern's sturdy shapes appear in light pink and beige across shirts, skirts and dresses in black undertones. Another new design, the Kesaheina wildflower meadow, brings a little vitality to break the season's dullness.
Highlight pieces include printed and monochrome coats made of recycled polyester. The Kolmikko coat in beige and blue Ostjakki checks is padded with fluffy fiber balls and has a shawl collar, puffy sleeves and a concealed snap button closure, keeping you warm but not bulking you up. To add more coziness, opt for the logo soft wool blend beanie and scarves.
Bag lovers are also in for a treat - a silver, nano version of the Milli Markuri shoulder bag and a grey Karla bag make their debut. Both come with a metal chain strap - a perfect finish to the season's festive look.
