David Beckham has shared a family update featuring his mother and rarely-seen sister, amid the ongoing public feud with his son Brooklyn.
The former footballer posted a photo on Friday enjoying a "pie and mash" lunch with his mother Sandra Beckham and elder sister Joanne in Essex. He captioned it: "Nothing better for the soul than Pie & Mash with mum. Love you mum."
The post comes after Brooklyn's lengthy statement last month alleging family issues, which also mentioned Sandra. Brooklyn claimed his mother Victoria called him "evil" during wedding planning because he and his wife Nicola Peltz chose to seat their grandmothers at their top table instead of their parents. He explained that Sandra, who is divorced from David's father Ted, and Nicola's late grandmother attended alone, so they were seated with the couple.
Brooklyn is reportedly very close with his grandmother Sandra. According to The Mirror, he spent as much time with his grandparents growing up as with David and Victoria.
