Suspected human skeletal remains, including a skull, were found inside a funerary urn on a hillside near A Kung Ngam Road in Shau Kei Wan on Thursday morning (Feb 5).
Police said they received a report at about 10am from a construction worker at a nearby site near No. 19 A Kung Ngam Road that an urn containing suspected human bones had been discovered on a slope.
Officers arrived and located the urn containing what were believed to be human skeletal remains. Initial information indicated the remains included a skull and other body parts.
The case has been classified as a discovery of human remains and has been handed over to the Eastern District Crime Squad for follow-up investigation. The remains were seized for further forensic examination.
