Mountain fire lights up night sky at Tai Po's Pat Sin Leng

A mountain fire broke out at Pat Sin Leng in Tai Po on Monday night, with flames stretching approximately 80 meters across the hillside.

Residents along Ting Kok Road reported the fire near Lai Pek Shan San Tsuen at around 7:48pm, describing multiple fire lines lighting up the night sky with thick smoke visible from distance.

Firefighters ascended the mountain using grass beaters and backpack pumps to combat the blaze, which continued burning as of 11pm.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
