Senior bomb disposal officer Suryanto Chin Chiu was responsible for briefings to the media regarding the incident, during which his team successfully neutralized the device after an arduous nine-hour operation.
His achievements resonated with Indonesian netizens, particularly due to the name "Suryanto" displayed on his uniform, which instilled a sense of pride in many Indonesians regarding his accomplishment in defusing the substantial wartime explosive.
Suryanto recently attended an anti-fraud seminar tailored for Indonesian domestic workers on Sunday (Oct 12).
