Renowned liver cancer specialist Dr. Ronnie Poon Tung-ping and his family, previously involved in the MediSafe controversy, are facing a civil lawsuit over a dispute with neighbors at the Bel-Air residential complex.
The plaintiff, On Ning, is a downstairs neighbor of the Poon family. The five defendants include Dr. Ronnie Poon, his wife Dr. Roberta Pang Wen-chi, their two daughters, Clarisse Poon and Calissa Poon, and the occupants of two adjacent units on the 18th floor of 28 Bel-Air Road in the Southern District.
Originally filed at the High Court in March 2024, the case was later transferred to the District Court in November 2024. Today’s hearing was held behind closed doors, with only legal representatives present.
According to the statement of claim, the plaintiff seeks a court order to prohibit the defendants from producing, causing, or allowing noise or music, including but not limited to piano sounds, that may disturb, inconvenience, or cause harm to others. The plaintiff also requests damages, related interest, and legal costs.
Court proceedings remain confidential, and further details are not publicly available.
