44-year-old two-time TVB Best Actress Nancy Wu Ting-yan was spotted stepping into full “supportive wife” mode before shifting her career focus to the mainland market, according to East Week, the sister publication of The Standard.
Wu married surgeon Dr. Akin Chan Kin-wa in New Zealand last October and officially became a newlywed. Despite getting married, she has kept a busy schedule.
Earlier this month, Wu announced that she had completed her contract with TVB at the end of last year. Sources say that, through the introduction of close friend Myolie Wu Hang-yee, Wu is set to sign with a major mainland talent agency and focus on earning opportunities there. Before fully launching her career in the mainland, she has been making time for her husband.
After attending an event in Causeway Bay recently, Wu drove to San Po Kong for work. Two hours later, instead of heading home, she went to pick up her husband at his Tsim Sha Tsui clinic, parked in his designated space, and moved to the passenger seat to wait.
About 20 minutes later, Chan finished seeing patients. Wu greeted him with a big smile. He then drove to another hospital in Tai Wai to continue his duties, while Wu waited in the car and ordered takeaway in advance so he wouldn’t go hungry.
When he got off work, the couple drove to Sha Tin to pick up food before heading home together, ending the day with a quiet dinner.
In a recent interview, Wu said she plans to focus more on mainland projects and music. She is scheduled to hold a concert in Zhuhai in April.
