The family of the late veteran Hong Kong actor Benz Hui Shiu-hung has released his obituary, announcing that the funeral will be held on November 17 at Po Fook Memorial Hall in Tai Wai, with the cremation to follow the next day.
In the notice, the family said the ceremony will be kept simple in accordance with Hui’s wishes. All condolence money will be donated to the Children’s Cancer Foundation, continuing the actor’s lifelong commitment to charity. Friends and relatives were asked to make donations instead of sending floral tributes.
Hui passed away on October 28 at the age of 76 from cancer-related organ failure. He was remembered as cheerful, kind-hearted, and highly respected by his peers.
Hui played numerous classic roles across different eras and genres, including “Chum Foon-hei (Happy Brother)” in Line Walker, “Chung Sir” in Love Undercover and “Wong Kai-fat” in the Running Out of Time series.
Over his decades-long career, he delivered countless memorable performances in both television dramas and films, earning him a reputation as one of Hong Kong’s most beloved supporting actors.
