Hong Kong-born American comedian Jimmy O. Yang, who rose to global fame through his acclaimed role in action-comedy TV drama Interior Chinatown, has given fans a taste of local culture while promoting his upcoming stand-up performances in his hometown.
The actor-comedian recently shared an Instagram reel featuring a lively dim sum feast at a Causeway Bay tea house, showcasing classic dishes including shrimp dumplings, siu mai, century egg and pork congee, and deep-fried glutinous rice dumplings (ham sui gok).
With infectious enthusiasm, Yang declared chicken feet a must-try Hong Kong delicacy, demonstrating his eating technique: "Pop the whole piece in your mouth, then spit out the bones—that's how we do it!"
Yang marveled at the meal's affordability, noting their six-dish spread cost just HK$223—less than a basic McDonald's meal in the US.
He also offered a pro tip for visitors: "Follow the old-timers—if a place is packed with local seniors, you've found the good stuff."
The comedian will perform at Hong Kong Coliseum from June 13-15, marking his first Asia tour stop. Yang expressed particular excitement about returning to his birthplace, promising special Cantonese elements and fresh material tailored for local audiences.
