Link appoints chairman-elect

Link Real Estate Investment Trust (0823) has appointed Duncan Gareth Owen as an independent non-executive director before he succeeds existing chairman Nicholas Allen next year.

Asia's largest REIT said Owen has also been appointed as a member of the finance and investment committee and the nomination committee. Both appointments come into effect today.

Owen, 56, is currently an independent non-executive director and chairman of Workspace Group, a REIT listed on the London Stock Exchange.

He is also the chairman of Sellar Property, a developer, investor and asset manager based in London. He has over 30 years of experience in the real estate investment and development sectors.

Link's current chairman Allen will fulfill his nine-year tenure by the end of January 2025. Link's succession planning involves appointing Owen as chair-elect, ensuring a smooth transition as Allen's tenure enters its latter stages.
