Hong Kong stocks fall by midday break

Hong Kong shares recovered some losses but remained down by midday break on Friday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped 0.2 percent, or 52 points, to 25,862.

The Hang Seng Tech Index inched up 0.34 percent to 4,882.

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index dipped 0.58 percent to 4,069 points, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index was down by 1.37 percent to 14,837 points.
