Hong Kong stocks edge higher at midday

Hong Kong stocks edged higher at midday on Thursday.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 1.38 percent, or 358 points, to 26,306 points.

The half-day market turnover was at HK$129 billion.

Tech gauge rose 2.98 percent to 5,057 points.

In the mainland, Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index was 0.53 percent or 21.43 points higher to 4,048 points. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index increased by 1.69 percent to 14,743 points.
