Hong Kong stocks closed flat on Monday, with Kuaishou Technology (1024) up by 11 percent.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index inched up 8 points to 26,347 points.
The market turnover jumped to HK$283.5 billion as the Southbound Stock Connect resumed following the New Year holiday in the mainland.
The Hang Seng Tech Index grew 5 points to 5,741 points, also led by Kuaishou, following news that its Kling AI model gained popularity in overseas markets.
China’s big three oil giants’ shares slumped, however, following a slide in oil prices after the United States' capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro over the weekend.
Shares in Cnooc (0883) and PetroChina (0857) dropped by 3.3 percent and 3.5 percent, respectively, in the afternoon trading session. China Petroleum & Chemical (0386) also lost 1.9 percent.
In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index jumped 1.38 percent to 4,023 points and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index increased by 2.24 percent to 13,828 points.
