China Mobile chair Yang Jie steps down due to age

China Mobile (0941) said its chairman and executive director Yang Jie has resigned from the roles by reason of age. 

The positions have been taken over by Chen Zhongyue, effective on Monday. 

Yang has confirmed that there is no disagreement with the board and there is no matter relating to his resignation that needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the company, according to a filing on Monday. 

The telecom giant acknowledged Yang’s outstanding contributions with the highest regard and deepest gratitude.
