The figure marked a 31.6 percent increase from September and a 15.9 percent rise from a year earlier, beating market expectations for an 11.7 percent year-on-year gain, according to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau.
For the first ten months of 2025, the world's biggest gambling hub’s cumulative GGR reached 205.43 billion patacas, up 8 percent year-on-year.
Analysts from Citigroup and JPMorgan said the uptick was driven by strong visitation during the early days of the National Day holiday, when Macau recorded an average of around 143,000 daily inbound tourists, a record high, according to Bloomberg.
However, gaming turnover slowed in the latter half of the week, suggesting that bigger players only returned after the holidays ended, Bloomberg cited the analysts.
Macau recorded about 2.8 million visitor arrivals in September, up 10 percent from a year earlier. Official figures for October visitor numbers are expected to be released later this month.
