Hong Kong's stocks held gains in the morning, as investors are waiting for the results of today's meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US leader Donald Trump.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index settled at 26,488 before the lunch break, up 0.54 percent or 142 points, staying nearly unchanged from previous levels of 26,545 at market open.
The half-day main board turnover surged to HK$178.7 billion.
The Tech Index climbed 0.53 percent to 6,112, with Meituan (3690) growing 4 percent.
Notably, Ganfeng Lithium (1772) surged 12.8 percent.
Local developers declined, with CK Assets (1113), Sun Hung Kai Properties (9916), New World Development (0017), Sino Land (0083) and Henderson Land Development (0012) losing 1 percent or more.
Meanwhile, the Shanghai Composite Index inched up 2 points to 4,018 and the Shenzhen Component Index dipped 2 points to 13,688.
