The home service robot has integrated self-developed technologies, including a four-legged composite design, a large-area tactile skin, a multi-fingered dexterous hand, and safe human-machine physical interaction, said Tencent Robotics X, a lab founded in 2018 in Shenzhen.
The Five has two hands and four legs, which can be switched to the four-wheeled or two-wheeled mode according to different load requirements and environmental space.
The robot is capable of walking, carrying objects, picking up parcels for the elderly, and helping seniors get up all in a human environment, according to a video.
The Five was launched in September 2024, before startup Unitree Robotics’ general-purpose H1 humanoid robots danced at a key gala in late January and triggered an investment frenzy in the sector.
Since February, startups like AgiBot and Hong Kong-listed Shenzhen Dobot (2432) have released product demonstrations to attract investors.
