US bond yields rise on vaccine news

U.S. Treasury yields climbed on Monday after news of an effective coronavirus vaccine from AstraZeneca and hopes that people in the U.S. could start being immunized in December.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note climbed to 0.849 percent at 5:07 a.m. eastern time in the US, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond climbed to 1.551 percent. Yields move inversely to prices.
