Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the sudden changes in Venezuela have drawn high attention from the international community and all countries' sovereignty should be protected under international law.
Wang made the remarks during the seventh China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers' Strategic Dialogue in Beijing on Sunday with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
Wang said the current international situation is increasingly turbulent with rising unilateral bullying. "China has never believed any single country can act as an international police, nor does it agree that any country can proclaim itself an international judge," he said, stressing sovereignty and security must be fully protected by international law.
He said China consistently opposes the use or threat of force in international relations and imposing one country's will on another. China will work with Pakistan and the international community to uphold the UN Charter.
Dar conveyed Pakistani leaders' greetings to Chinese leaders, saying China's modernization is crucial for global peace and development. Pakistan reaffirmed its adherence to the one-China principle and continued firm support on China's core interests.
Both sides agreed to deepen strategic coordination, implement a plan to build a China-Pakistan community with a shared future, upgrade the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to "version 2.0," mark 75 years of diplomatic ties, uphold the UN Charter and oppose bullying that infringes on sovereignty.
