A suspect wanted in connection with multiple kidnappings and murders targeting Chinese citizens has been repatriated from the Philippines to face trial in China.
The Chinese embassy in the Philippines stated that law enforcement agencies from both countries recently captured suspect Shi Chunfang. He was escorted back to China on Monday.
Shi is suspected of involvement in several serious criminal cases, including kidnapping and murder, targeting Chinese nationals.
Chinese and Philippine authorities conducted over two years of investigation and pursuit before locating his hiding place in the Philippines. After careful planning, they apprehended him.
China expressed its desire to continue strengthening law enforcement cooperation with the Philippines to combat crimes such as online gambling, kidnapping, extortion and human trafficking, aiming to protect the safety of Chinese citizens and ensure normal bilateral exchanges.
