Hot pot restaurant Haidilao disinfects area after child urinates in bowl at dining table

Hot pot chain Haidilao has conducted specialized disinfection after a child was seen urinating into a paper bowl at a dining table in one of its Harbin restaurants.

The incident occurred on October 30 when a customer witnessed a mother at a neighboring table using a paper bowl to collect her child's urine instead of taking the child to the restroom.

After the child finished urinating, the mother reportedly wiped the child clean with a restaurant towel and placed the urine-filled bowl on a nearby food cart.

The complainant, surnamed Wang, described the area as filled with an unpleasant odor and expressed dissatisfaction with the restaurant's initial response of offering a fruit platter as compensation.

Haidilao confirmed the incident at its Harbin Yintai branch, stating that specialized cleaning and comprehensive disinfection were completed within 15 minutes under quality safety department supervision. All contaminated items were discarded, and dedicated staff are maintaining communication with the affected customer.
