By2's Yumi Bai was said to have overdosed on medication after becoming embroiled in singer Wang Leehom's divorce storm.
A netizen who claimed to be a close friend of Bai's posted on Weibo on Wednesday, saying that the idol took an excessive amount of medication in an attempt to commit suicide and had to undergo gastric lavage due to the emergency.
She uploaded pictures of a hospital form and a long-haired woman sitting in a wheelchair, with her back facing the camera. The form says, "emergency critical care" and "drug poisoning." The patient's name is stated as "Bai Weiling," and the age of 29 matches that of the star's.
"You know well enough that Yumi has nothing to do with your messed up marriage," the netizen wrote. "If something happens to her, I will never forgive you!"
Wang has yet to respond to the report, and it is not verified by Bai's company or family.
Later in the afternoon, another netizen claimed she worked at the hospital in question and could confirm the hospitalization. However, the patient only ate vitamins and Melatonin pills and was discharged soon after, she said.
Lee Jinglei, Wang's ex-wife, has accused Bai of being a mistress.
Bai wrote on Weibo on Sunday, saying she dated Wang back in 2012.
"Wang Leehom and I did not have any inappropriate relationship. I was his girlfriend before he got married (in 2013)," she wrote.
"I was 20 years old back then... we had a long-distance relationship and shared private photos," Bai said.
The idol said she had deleted Wang's WeChat by 2019 when Wang and Lee's relationship broke down, and she should not be blamed.
Her post soon triggered a response from Lee, who accused Bai of having used WhatsApp instead of WeChat to reach Wang.
"That's because... she used WhatsApp. She also used a nude as a profile picture," Lee wrote on her Weibo.
She uploaded a screen cap which she claimed to be a chatbox between Wang and Bai. One user's profile picture shows a woman's chest.
Lee earlier accused Wang of hiring prostitutes and having multiple sex partners in various cities. Different people thought they were "dating" Wang and were shocked when he married her in 2013, she wrote in a 5,000-word post on Instagram.
Wang finally apologized on Monday, saying he has suspended all entertainment work and will spend more time with family.
