Chinese interpreter Zhang Jing has pulled in millions of fans on Chinese social media following her work at the contentious China-US talks in Alaska on Friday.
The highlight was shen when she translated several speeches by the Chinese delegation that were more than 10 minutes long into English, the state media reported.
Zhang graduated from China Foreign Affairs University.
A photo with the hashtag "she is the on-site translator at high-level China-US talks" has gone viral on Sina Weibo with views surpassing 400 million, according to state media Global Times.
According to a media interview with Zhang's high school teacher, Zhang had the capability to enter Peking University and Tsinghua University, but she chose to go to China Foreign Affairs University.
Interpreter Zhang Jing has been turned into a domestic social media celebrity.
