"HK 12” mainland court trial ended with verdict announced in due course

Shenzhen Yantian People's Court announced on its website that it has heard the case of the 12 Hongkongers facing charges linked to an illegal border crossing this afternoon and will hand down the verdict someday later on.

The court said some HK delegates, Shenzhen's lawmakers and political advisors, reporters and even defendants' relatives attended the hearing.

According to reports, families of the 12 Hongkongers called the court at 5.30pm and a court staff told them the trial was still ongoing where they had to check the court’s website for the trial results.

Western diplomats who arrived at the court requesting to sit-in the trial has been rejected, they left the court after waiting for an hour.-Photo: Commercial Radio HK
