At 09:30 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 108.37 points, or 0.25 percent, to 42,691.69, the S&P 500 gained 10.68 points, or 0.19 percent, to 5,778.25 and the Nasdaq Composite gained 21.87 points, or 0.12 percent, to 18,210.47.
