Hong Kong stocks slipped 2 percent by noon on Friday, dragged down by declined tech shares.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index stood at 23,733 points as of midday, down 486 points, or 2.01 percent.
The main board turnover was HK$175.66 billion.
The indicator once rose to 24,230 in the morning session.
The Hang Seng Tech Index dropped 2.94 percent, or 171 points, to 5,664 points, while the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index slid by 182 points, or 2.04 percent, to 8,767.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index dipped 31 points, or 0.94 percent, to 3,376, and the Shenzhen Component Index lost 1.42 percent, or 154 points, to 10,725 points.
Alibaba (9988) dropped 3.25 percent to HK$131.10 in the morning session.
Tencent (0700) lost 2.02 percent to HK$509.00, Xiaomi (1810) lost 3.54 percent to HK$54.50, while BYD (1211) declined by 7.02 percent to HK$394.40.
CK Hutchison (0001) fell by 3.79 percent to HK$43.15 after announcing yesterday that its 2024 net profit dropped more than 27 percent.
