Xiaomi (1810) is set to release its first central air conditioner before the end of the month, a major move for the tech giant as it enters the high-end home appliance market, its president said on Monday.

The product will be positioned against current market leader Daikin from Japan, Xiaomi president William Lu Weibing wrote in a Weibo post.
Lu said that the product will address the common issue of poor heating performance in central air conditioners during winter, while also leading the market in energy-saving technology, smart features, and ecosystem connectivity.
