China's state asset regulator is preparing to set up a new enterprise called the National Data Group, state media The Economic Observer reported on Thursday citing sources.

The new company will be responsible for integrating, operating and developing data resources at a national level, covering fields like energy, transport, finance and medical care, the report said citing an unnamed source close to the State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission.
The National Data Group will promote cross-industry and cross-regional flow and sharing of data resources, the report said.
