The 2025 Chinese Spring Festival box office revenue has exceeded 6.9 billion yuan (HK$7.5 billion) as of February 2, with Nezha 2 accounting for nearly half of the box office.

Nezha 2, Detective Chinatown 1900, and Creation of the Gods II: Demon Force lead the box office rankings, according to online data cited by mainland media reports.
The animated fantasy Nezha 2, having already grossed three billion yuan within its first five days of release, may surpass the Chinese box office record of 5.77 billion yuan held by The Battle at Lake Changjin, setting a new milestone for domestic films in Chinese cinema history.
The report also mentioned that Nezha 2 had broken 16 records in Chinese film history, including the highest Chinese Spring Festival box office record in the past three years and the opening-day box office record for animated films in China’s history.
The sequel to the 2019 hit Nezha impressed audiences with its stunning visuals and engaging storyline, earning an 8.6 rating on Douban, a popular Chinese film review platform.
