China’s inbound tourism orders this Lunar New Year have surged over 150 percent year-on-year, according to mainland media.

Top destinations for foreign tourists include Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Harbin, mainland media reported, citing data from Trip.com (9961).
The report highlighted that South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, and the United States remain the main sources of inbound tourists during the holiday.
The data also shows that inbound tourism bookings from South Korea during the Lunar New Year have increased by 452 percent year-on-year, mainly due to the implemented visa-free policy.
A total of 610 million border crossings were recorded in 2024, up 43.9 percent year-on-year, while around 20 million foreign visitors entered the country, marking a 112.3 percent increase, according to the National Immigration Administration.
