In pictures: Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon held in California 

A "Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon" was held at Del Mar Dog Beach in California on Sunday by the Helen Woodward Animal Center, attracting numerous dogs and their owners to paw-ticipate in the fun event. 

Some dogs showcased their surfing skills by standing solo on surfboards, while others rode the waves with their owners. Many of the participating dogs made a splash with their unique outfits, sporting sunglasses and costumes featuring "fish fins." 

The event celebrated the special bond between dogs and their owners while promoting ocean safety and animal welfare.
