Rita Tong Liu School of Business and Hospitality Management (SBHM) at Saint Francis University is dedicated to cultivating professionals in corporate governance and family wealth management.
MCG aims to provide students with learning experiences of academic rigour and professional relevance for the practice as Company Secretaries (CS) and Corporate Governance Professionals (CGP) which play key roles as officers respectively in listed companies and private or not-for-profit organisations. MCG graduates are eligible for full exemption from the examinations of Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme of The Hong Kong Chartered Governance Institute. With the required work experience, they can apply for associateship to represent themselves as CS and CGP.
PgD-PBFO is designed for students from diverse industries and backgrounds. Its curriculum includes topics such as family office operations, asset allocation, investment strategies, global taxation, trust arrangements, estate and wealth succession, risk management, and ESG applications.
The 2025 Policy Address announced that Hong Kong had already exceeded its target of 200 family offices established locally, ahead of schedule. The government’s initiatives such as tax concessions, the New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme, and the Hong Kong Academy for Wealth Legacy have significantly contributed to this achievement. The sector is expected to sustain growth, with plans to attract over 220 additional family offices between 2026 and 2028, further strengthening Hong Kong’s position as a premier global wealth management hub.
Graduates of PgD-PBFO can qualify for credit exemptions and complete the MCG within one year. This allows them to earn both a postgraduate diploma and a master’s degree in a total of two years while maintaining their current employment, enabling them to enter the fields of wealth management and corporate governance.
