The government spokesperson explained that the black alert signals a severe threat and strongly advises Hong Kong residents against all travel to Iran and Israel.
Those currently in either country should prioritize personal safety, leave as soon as possible if feasible, or move to relatively safer locations.
Those already there should pay attention to their personal safety and evacuate as soon as possible or relocate to relatively safe areas.
Amber alerts now apply to Bahrain, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Residents planning trips to or already in these places should closely monitor developments, exercise heightened caution and ensure personal safety.
They are urged to follow local announcements, as well as updates and consular notices from Chinese Embassies or Consulates-General in the region.
Although Kuwait falls outside the formal OTA system, the Security Bureau has added updated safety information for the country on the OTA webpage, reminding travelers to remain vigilant and attentive to their personal security.
The bureau stated it will keep monitoring the situation across relevant Middle East countries and will issue any changes through media channels, its mobile app and the official OTA website (www.sb.gov.hk/eng/ota).
