Hong Kong and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Thursday signed two cooperation documents focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and youth exchange.
The signing, which took place at the Guangxi-Hong Kong Investment Promotion Conference, was witnessed by Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu and Party Secretary of Guangxi, Chen Gang.
Under the agreements, both sides will strengthen cooperation in multiple areas, including initiating collaboration on AI applications and jointly supporting efforts to bring data products and AI achievements to the international market.
Speaking at the conference, Lee pointed out that Guangxi is a frontier and window for China's cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The province also serves as a main channel for the country's southwestern region to access the Greater Bay Area and maritime routes, he added.
Lee further noted that the government welcomes Guangxi enterprises interested in expanding into overseas markets to fully leverage Hong Kong's unique platform and jointly explore more global business opportunities.
