Social Welfare Department officials have visited residents displaced by the Wang Fuk Court fire now staying in transitional housing, providing on-site support and Octopus cards containing HK$2,000 credit donated by MTR Corporation.
Deputy Director (Services) Maggie Leung Yee-lee led a team to the "Lok Sin Village" transitional housing project in Tai Po on Wednesday, meeting affected families to understand their welfare needs following the deadly five-alarm blaze.
The department has activated its "one household, one social worker" follow-up service, assigning dedicated social workers to maintain close contact with each affected household. Residents who haven't yet connected with social workers are urged to call the support hotline 182 183.
Authorities emphasized continued government and community support for fire victims, stating "after the storm comes the rainbow" as recovery efforts continue.
