Eight-year-old boy found dead in Fo Tan flat

An eight-year-old boy with cerebral palsy and epilepsy was found dead in his flat in Fo Tan on Sunday. 

Police received a report at around 4am from a woman stating that her younger brother was found unconscious at home in Fung Yat House of Sui Wo Court. 

Paramedics arrived on the scene and confirmed that the boy had passed away. It is reported that the boy had a history of long-term illness, including cerebral palsy and epilepsy, and required a wheelchair for mobility. 

On the afternoon of Saturday (Nov 22), his family had fed the boy with medicines without any issues. However, in the early morning today, his sister discovered him unresponsive in bed with vomit, prompting her to call the police.

The cause of death is yet to be determined pending further autopsy results. 

The case has been classified as a body found case and has been handed over to the Miscellaneous Enquiries Sub-unit of Shatin Division for further investigation.
