Coleman Wong Chak-lam of Hong Kong stormed into the second round of the men’s singles at the 15th National Games with a commanding 6-1, 6-3 victory over Shanxi’s Duan Hao on Friday.
The Hong Kong star fired eight unreturnable aces and won more than 90 percent of points on both first and second serves, overwhelming his opponent in a brisk contest that lasted just two sets.
After the match, Wong admitted he still needs time to adjust to the court conditions but expressed delight at securing the first-round win.
He stressed that he carries no specific expectations for results, focusing instead on playing solid tennis and improving with every outing.
