The typhoon's intense winds and torrential rain caused water levels to rise to approximately 3.5 meters, overwhelming safety barriers and inundating streets in Tai O - one of the most flood-prone areas in the territory.
The flooding submerged shops, uprooted trees, and forced residents to navigate through the watery streets.
Local resident Ho returned to find his home completely flooded, with water reaching his thighs. Despite his efforts to elevate his furniture, the toilet was nearly submerged.
"I don't know where I should go for the big one now," he remarked wryly.

Even after watching his refrigerator and other belongings float away, Ho remained determined to stay and safeguard his property.
Meanwhile, some elderly residents heeded official warnings and evacuated to community centers managed by the Home Affairs Department, assisted by emergency personnel.
Members of the Civil Aid Service were active throughout the neighborhood, repositioning sandbags in an effort to mitigate the flooding.
Authorities continue to urge residents in high-risk areas to evacuate immediately or seek temporary refuge in designated shelters.
