A glass window from a chain restaurant detached and fell onto the sidewalk in Ngau Tau Kok, injuring two pedestrians. A female staff member has been arrested in relation to the case.
At 3.12 pm, a 2-meter by 1.5-meter glass window fell from the first floor of Champion Court on 11 Hong Ning Road, scattering food ingredients and debris everywhere.
The two male pedestrians, aged 51 and 68 respectively, sustained cuts to their hands and legs by glass shards. They were taken to United Christian Hospital for treatment.
The police investigation revealed that the dislodged window was located outside the restaurant's storage room. It is suspected that the incident occurred when staff accidentally impacted the window while rearranging stored goods.
Following the incident, a 56-year-old female employee was arrested on suspicion of "allowing an object to fall from height."
