The Hong Kong Palace Museum will launch a special exhibition to showcase 110 exquisite artworks, including eight grade-one national treasures from The Palace Museum.
The four-section exhibition -- “A Movable Feast: The Culture of Food and Drink in China” -- will be held from March 19 to June 18 to bring about 5,000 years of food culture for its audience, including prestigious collections and artifacts from the Shang, Western Zhou, Song, and Tang dynasty.
The first three sections--“Crossing from Life to Death,” “Crossing Cultures,” and “Crossing Mountains and Lakes,” explore themes of food and vessels across spiritual, cultural, and physical spaces.
The last section--“Crossing Time” features multimedia spaces that connect Chinese culinary heritage with modern food cultures.
In conjunction with the exhibition, the museum will offer public talks, workshops, and educational programs on picnic box-making, as well as a learning resource booklet. Further details will be announced on the Hong Kong Palace Museum website.
The exhibition will take place in gallery eight at the museum.
Tickets are priced at HK$150 for adults and HK$75 for concessions. Visitors may also choose full access tickets for access to exhibitions from gallery one to seven, priced at HK$220 for adults and HK$110 for concessions.
