Automakers' sales momentum weakened in January. Xiaomi Group (1810) said it delivered more than 39,000 vehicles during the month, down 22 percent month on month.
According to mainland media citing data from an automotive information platform, sales of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra stood at only 45 units in December 2025, a sharp drop from the peak of 3,101 units recorded in March.
Li Auto (2015) delivered nearly 27,700 vehicles in January, down 37.5 percent month-on-month and 7.5 percent year-on-year. As of the end of January, cumulative vehicle deliveries totalled 156,800 units.
Great Wall Motor (2333) said total vehicle sales in January reached 90,000 units, down 27.2 percent month on month but up 11.59 percent year on year. Total production stood at about 90,000 units, down 22.9 percent month on month and up 9.17 percent year on year. Of these, more than 40,000 vehicles were sold overseas, while new energy vehicle sales amounted to 18,000 units.
Guangzhou Automobile (2238) reported vehicle production of 110,795 units in January 2026, representing a month-on-month decrease of 40.89 percent and year-on-year decrease of 4.77 percent, with cumulative production for the year standing at 110,795 units.
NIO (9866) delivered 27,182 vehicles in January 2026, down 43.53 percent month-on-month but up 96.1 percent year-on-year. As of January 31, 2026, cumulative vehicle deliveries reached 1,024,774 units.
Geely Automobile (0175) reported unaudited total vehicle sales of 270,167 units in January 2026, representing an 14.1 percent monthly increase and about 1 percent compared with the same period last year.
BYD (1211) reported new energy vehicle sales of 232,358 units in January 2026, down about 29 percent year-on-year and nearly 45 percent from December.
