Events begin on February 17 with the International Chinese New Year Night Parade. The float, themed “Riding High Together in the Year of the Horse,” will feature three horse figures representing vitality, prosperity and forward momentum. The Club will also act as the sole parade route sponsor this year, with decorations installed along the route.
An HKJC equestrian team rider and an apprentice jockey will appear on the float, joined by mascot and lion dance teams greeting spectators and visitors. A total of 100 parade tickets will be distributed to beneficiaries of Charities Trust projects, including JC Project Bonfire, JC Project MuSE and JC Project LIFT.
On February 18, the Club will sponsor the Year of the Horse fireworks display over Victoria Harbor. The 23-minute show will feature 31,888 shells across eight segments incorporating horse and festive themes.
The program will conclude on February 19 with the Year of the Horse Raceday at Sha Tin Racecourse, with feature races and themed activities. The parade float will also be displayed at the venue.
The Club said more Year of the Horse events are planned throughout 2026, including new racing and equestrian programs at its Conghua racecourse in Guangzhou later this year.
