As the matches commence, excitement is building to cheer for local athletes playing on home ground.
Notably, the men's U22 basketball tournament tips off tomorrow(Nov 10) at the Hong Kong Coliseum, with the host team facing off against Beijing, Shanghai, and Sichuan in a 13-team battle for a top-eight finish.
Additionally, a triathlon will take place in the city next weekend at Victoria Harbour and the Central Harbourfront, where athletes will swim 1.5 kilometers in the harbour, followed by a 40-kilometer bike ride and a 10-kilometer run.
Wong Tsz-to, a member of Hong Kong’s triathlon team, reported the team has adjusted to the best condition following training in Yunnan. The men's team also includes Oscar Coggins, a representative for the Paris Olympics, and rising star Robin Elg.
Meanwhile, the women's team consists of Bailey Brown, triathlete Cade Wright, and Hilda Choi Yan-yan.
These six athletes will compete in the individual event on the first day, with plans to send two men and two women to participate in the mixed relay event on the second day, depending on their results.
