HK’s first hot air balloon festival to uplift hearts over Victoria Harbour

The city’s first International Hot Air Balloon Festival is set to light up the Central Harbourfront this September, featuring 16 unique hot air balloons from various places, including an 11.5-meter-tall panda-shaped balloon.

Taking place from September 4 to 7, visitors will have two opportunities daily to witness an array of different shaped balloons being inflated and soar above Victoria Harbour during two sessions -- from 7am to 11.30am and from 4pm to 10.30pm.

Guests can also enjoy a riding experience on specially designed hot air balloons, reaching heights between 10 and 20 meters against the stunning backdrop of the city’s skyline.

Additionally, the four-day event will feature live music performances with a strong lineup, including local singer Joey Yung Tso-Yi, Leo Ku Kui-kei, Kay Tse On-kay, and local bands ToNick and LMF.

Meanwhile, a special parade of hot air balloons will enchant the night skies along the Harbour, complemented by activities for guests of all ages such as game booths, snack stalls, inflatable castles, and pedal boats.

Tickets for the event will go on sale at 9am this Thursday (July 10), with early bird prices ranging from HK$150 to HK$680 for adults.

There will also be discounted tickets for students, seniors, and persons with disabilities, as well as family packages.
