Chinese tech giant Tencent (0700) has acquired Polish game development group 1C Entertainment, according to the latter's statement in its website.
The two closed a deal reached in late November, and 1C Entertainment and all subsidiaries with "1C" in their names will be renamed within six months of the deal's completion, the statement said, but did not disclose the transaction price.
1C Entertainment has launched over 100 game titles, including critically acclaimed series such as King's Bounty, Men of War and Space Rangers.
The gaming developer said it looks forward to joining the Tencent family and expects to reap the benefits of numerous synergies between the two companies.
Tencent had acquired a 22 percent stake in another Polish video game firm Bloober Team and became its biggest shareholder last October.
