Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (0388) announced on Monday the appointment of Carl Wong Ka-chun as managing director, head of external communications, effective from September 21 this year.
In his role, Wong will be responsible for overseeing HKEX's external communications functions, including media relations, social media, content development and speechwriting, leading a team of communications and content specialists.
Prior to joining HKEX, Wong was in a dual role as head of external communications for Manulife Asia and head of communications, Asia, for Manulife Investment Management.
Prior to Manulife,Wong has worked at Sun Hung Kai Properties (0016) and held senior roles at international public relations firms including Fleishman-Hillard and Ketchum. And he holds a degree of bachelor of science from Ohio University in the US.
"Carl brings over 25 years of experience across the financial and corporate communications spectrum, including leadership counsel, issues management, digital storytelling, and talent development," Jeffrey Ng Wai-leung, HKEX chief communications officer said, "He will be a vital addition as we advance the Group's strategy to build a multi-asset ecosystem that supports the long-term development of Hong Kong's markets.”
