Hong Kong stocks gain on midday

Hang Seng Index gains at midday, though it is slightly lower than at market open.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 111 points, or 0.45 percent, to 24,829 points.

Tech gauge rose 0.92 percent to 4,748 points.

In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index rose 37 points, or 0.92 percent, to 4,058 points. The Shenzhen Stock Exchange Composite Index rose 2.53 percent to 15,342 points.
