Hong Kong shares closed lower on Tuesday, despite Asian stock markets' rally.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index dropped by 91 points or 0.37 percent, to 24,565 points, with a full-day turnover of HK$308.9 billion.
The Hang Seng Tech Index advanced 0.29 percent to 4,769 points.
Chipmakers gained, with SMIC (0981) and Hua Hong Semiconductor (1347) rising 3.38 percent and 2.19 percent.
Tencent (0700) and Meituan (3690) increased 1.5 percent and 1.2 percent, while Alibaba (9988) retreated 1.4 percent.
In the mainland, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index rose 1.28 percent to 4,010 points, and the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index jumped 3.02 percent to 15,268 points.
