HSBC seen to report a 1.1 percent rise in pre-tax profit on Tuesday

HSBC (0005) is expected to post a 1.1 percent rise in pre-tax profit in the first quarter of this year when it releases the results on Tuesday.

Profit before taxes is projected to reach US$9.6 billion for the three months. The lender’s first interim dividend is estimated to be 10 US cents, with the full-year payout expected to grow by 10.7 percent to 83 US cents.
